The first store was established on the LSU campus on March 10, 2003. Chris was a partner in that store and he quickly realized that he wanted to develop a business around the fruit smoothie industry. Chris worked at the first couple of stores that he developed before he realized that this concept is one that could be developed and eventually franchised. In 2007 Chris and Randy teamed up and started to investigate what was needed to start a new Franchise. A legal team was engaged and advised Chris and Randy on what was needed to develop the new fruit smoothie franchise that could be marketed throughout the United States. It was through that process that a new franchise was "born". In October 2007 Chris and Randy filed for the trademark and the new franchise was established. "Smoothie ROX" was the name selected and the new company is now ready for sales and distribution opportunities. Although the new franchise is young, the owners have years of experience in developing, owning and operating a small business.
